Are you new to exercise or nervous about starting again after a long break? Or perhaps you’re recovering from an injury or managing chronic pain? SilverSneakers LIVE online classes are led by expert instructors who know how to make exercise safe and fun—no matter your fitness level.

In this video, SilverSneakers Master Trainer Andi will guide you through a 10-minute version of SilverSneakers Classic, one of our most popular beginner classes. It’s a joint-friendly workout that builds strength while using a chair for both seated and standing support. This way, you can move your body with confidence.

About SilverSneakers Classic

Here’s what you can expect in a full-length SilverSneakers LIVE online class: “We have three strength segments,” Andi says. “One uses handheld weights. The second uses elastic tubing with handles. And the third uses a soft, non-weighted ball.”

If you don’t have that equipment at home, no worries. You can simply use the best piece of equipment you have: your own body.

How to Do the SilverSneakers Classic Express Workout

In this shortened version, you’ll do a 10-minute segment using a soft, non-weighted ball. You’ll need a ball if you have one, a sturdy chair, and open space in front of you.

If you’d like, warm up on your own for five minutes by walking or marching in place. When you’re ready, press play on the video above, and follow along.

Why Andi loves this workout: The ball enables you to build strength in your arms and legs without putting a lot of pressure on your joints. “Find the range of motion that’s best for you,” she says. And feel free to pause and sip water whenever you need.
